The Sun Belt just announced thier 2010-11 Preseason Teams…the Owls are tabbed 2nd in the east with representation on the 2nd and 3rd teams…a couple of things jump out in that Troy is now in the cellar after a solid yeat last year, and Royster got snubbed on the third team, IMO.

The future is bright as long as Jarvis sticks around
My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

13 ppg

4 bpg
That's pretty good numbers to not be on first or second team.

FAU 2nd in Pre-Season SBC Coaches Poll; Gantt Taylor Royster 2nd & 3rd Team
Sophomores Greg Gantt and Raymond Taylor were named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team and senior Brett Royster was named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Third Team, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Gantt and Taylor were both named Third Team All-Conference at the end of last season. Gantt was the conference’s leading freshman scorer at 15.6 points per contest and finished among the nation’s leaders in three-pointers made per game (2.8 ) and three-point percentage (.390). He was also named to the NABC All-District Team and to CollegeInsider.com's Mid-Major Freshman All-America team.
Taylor set the school’s single season assist record (177) and was 11th in the nation in assists per game as a freshman (5.9). Taylor was the Sun Belt’s third leading freshman scorer at 14.2 points per game.
Royster is the league’s reigning Defensive Player of the Year and is already FAU’s career blocked shots leader. He enters his senior season just 350 points and seven rebounds shy of becoming the first player in school history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 blocked shots. Royster also holds FAU’s single season blocked shots mark.
As a team, the Owls were picked to finish second in the Eastern Division, behind Western Kentucky and also received a first place vote.

One first place vote huh…so Jarvis thinks we're gonna win it huh? Who else would vote for us?
No way Jarvis voted for us. Not his style and I am happy for that.
I say it was WKU. They probably knew everyone would vote for them so they voted someone else which is smart. Why look like NT and vote for yourself. It makes you look like you are satisfied with where you are before you even start, and no coach should be satisfied at the start (or at least not admit they are).
Unless someone pulled a "Spurrier" and gave the ballot to someone else to cast the ballot. :D
Of course, in the end, the coaches know this vote is for the sake of the fans and has no bearing on anything.
