It's a battle for the rights to leave the Sun Belt basement on Saturday, as both teams are tied for last at 1-3.

Western Kentucky dropped a disheartening Homecoming loss to North Texas 33-6 last Saturday.

Florida Atlantic is reeling off a 21-9 Shula Bowl win over FIU that was prompted by a strong defensive showing, and solid offensive line play.

The Owls enjoy a 2-0 lead over the Hilltoppers in the series, with both games being decided by a total of just 10 points:

10/18/08 A W 24-20
11/28/09 H W 29-23

FAU opens as the favorite at -2.

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

WKU has a pay per view on their site:

$8.95 for the Game

Or you may be able to go to the UC to watch at Cayote Jack's…Owl TV is hopeful for this weekend.

Great piece out today from Ted on the quick rise of FAU in comparison to other programs (see this Saturday's opponent) who have made the jump from IAA to IA…Fans keep losing sight of this, especially in times like this…we could have a football program that has experienced no success at the higher level, despite being just 10 years old:

"Whenever you move up, you are going to have a transitional period," said WKU Athletic Director Ross Bjork. "That FAU didn't go through that is a testament to their program."

Unlike Hilltoppers, FAU had early success in FBS
