Sun Belt Football: Games for November 6th, 2010

Post

Nice for the Owls to be back in the win column last Saturday, and they should be there again this week.

Here's the Sun Belt Conference's game lineup for Week 10, November 6th. Teams in bold are the desired winners.

Florida Atlantic (2-5, 1-3) vs Western Kentucky (1-7, 1-3) @ 4:30 p.m. - Owl TV

Run Morris, run. That should be the main theme against the Hilltoppers. Mix in a few burns to Jean, and possibly the wishbone a time or two, and the three score Owl mandate as of late may expire. Cooler temps will prevail at kickoff, but that should not stop FAU from putting together it's first streak of the season while leaving the basement in the conference standings.

Louisiana (2-6, 2-3) vs Mississippi (3-5, 1-4) @ 7:00 p.m. - ESPNU

SEC opponent. Enough said. But we'll still root for the Cajuns!

Troy (4-3, 3-1) vs North Texas (2-6, 2-3) @ 7:00 p.m. - UNT Pay Per View

Troy has won five straight against the not so Mean Green, dating back to the glory days under head coach Darrell Dickey, who led UNT to four straight Sun Belt Championships. No reason the Trojans shouldn't continue their recent domination on Saturday, especially since they were embarrassed once again at ULM last week. However, a Troy loss would be best since they are on their island at 3-1 and need to join in with the rest of the conference parity.

Louisiana-Monroe (4-4, 3-2) vs Florida International (2-5, 2-1) @ 7:30 p.m. - Sun Belt Network

Dare we favor a Panther win? Yes. The Owls already own the head to head against FIU thanks to a 21-9 Shula Bowl IX win. ULM on the other hand has it locked up. The Panthers should win this game according to the line, but it will likely be close.

The focus for FIU: Defending the run

Enjoy your weekend…….

If our D continues to play as of late and we can wake up the O, all four remaining games are winnable. Yes, even Texas because they pretty much suck right now for  program of their stature!

I made fun of UCF a couple of years ago for having one of the worst O's in college football. And right now we are in that boat. How can Florida schools with all of this local talent available, suck on O? We cried for Hoza's head last year when the D sucked big time. Now, how about some changes in the O coaching, we are predictable and boring to put it nicely! After our "breakout" 2nd half vs. FIU, what happened vs. WKU? Shake it up, get some creativity and life and let's win these last four! Shock some people. We woll be unfderdogs but none of these last four (ULL, Texas, MTSU and Troy) are really that good!

Go Owls!!!!!!! Congrats on the win streak, now kick it up a bunch!!!!!!!!

I'll go three of four are winnable…still a huge difference in the competition level of the BIG 12 to the SBC…

Yeah, Texas is not happening. It doesn't matter how their year has been.
