The FAU club hockey team defeated USF (10-4) and Arkansas (4-3) at Regionals this past weekend to clinch one of 16 spots in the National tournament. The tournament will be held in Holland, Michigan during March 9-12.

Awesome! Great job guys. Make sure to stop by again closer to the date to let us know if and how we can follow our guys online during the tournament.

I think they should move the club team up to a NCAA division II or III team.


(I know it is probably not realistic for travel costs and the athletic budget… but that would be pretty cool for a Florida team.)

owlcountry - I should've brought this up earlier! I call all their games at www.fauhockey.com. It'd be amazing to travel with them and do nationals, but that's probably a long shot.

NCowl - They can barely afford to play in ACHA. The school has not provided them with much of anything, which will hopefully change with their recent success and exposure they have provided the school. There was a nice feature on Inside the Panthers with Peter Worrell (former Panther that coaches FAU now).
