2011 FIU Football Coaches Clinic Featuring Keynote Speaker Mike Leach

Post

In my opinion there is no better option than for our next coach to be Mike Leach and it makes me mad the FIU has him speaking there. Even if it is for a camp, that's building ties for if/when Cristobal leaves.

But very smart of FIU to hold a Coaches clinics at their school. Building those ties to HS coaches and that recruiting pipeline! And paying Leach to appear just gives them more credibility. Very smart move.

We dont need a gimmicky coach with character issues.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

But we do need a younger coach to take over the program AND fill 30,000 seats with exciting football. Any other possible names come to mind that fill that bill that are available?

You're right, we're fortunate our coaches for football and basketball coaches now never had a problem at their previous coaching positions.

My fear with Leach is more on the bridges he's burned on his way out…wherever that guy goes, I don't think one media outlet will give that guy a break after what he's done.

Joe Paterno is 85 and sells out 110,000 when he coaches, he comes to mind.

How about we wait till the huge embarrasing law suit he has filed against Texas Tech is over before hiring him.

Comparing him to Jarvis is apples to oranges.

This is America, it doesn't matter what he did, if he wins, all is forgotten.

Espn hates the guy, he sued them, he'll never catch a break by any of their 10,000 outlets, winning or not.
