Congrats to former Owls HC Matt Doherty for leading SMU to this years CIT Final Four.  I'm sure that is just what SMU had in mind when they hired him.

Also, Rex Walter's San Fran team lost last night in the same tournament.

For those of you who aren't aware, the CIT is the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, which is comprised of 16 teams that do not get selected to the NCAA's or NIT.

Totally kidding….those two clowns created quite a mess here for Coach Jarvis to clean up.  They left for supposedly better jobs and have ended up in the CIT…good work fellas!

The only time I've heard of CIT is when I was younger and I went to camp for the summer, I was considered a CIT. Counselor In Training. SMU and SanFran must be so proud. Are these games even on TV? Not that anyone is watching.

I bet the women's NCAA Tournament does better ratings than the CIT tourney

Don't forget the CBI.  I believe you might get an invite to the CIT if you don't get invited to the NCAA, NIT OR CBI.  Plus, I think these schools have to pay their own way so some schools just decline the offer.

I thought I knew a decent amount about college basketball and can honestly say that I have never heard of the CIT tournament.  When did this tournament start being held?
