However it would not result in celebration as the Owls dropped their fourth straight contest to Tulane in straight sets (27-25, 25-21, 25-20).
FAU had two chances to take the first set, and lead late in the second. each time the Green Wave rallied. The final set was tied four times before the visitor put away the match.

Pitt took match one in straight sets over FAU (25-18, 25-18, 25-16). Thacilli Pereira had five kills and 10 digs for the Owls in the loss.
The day's second match would be closer, going the full distance before FAU eventually dropped a five set marathon to UNC-Greensboro (19-25, 25-16, 25-16, 22-25, 15-12).
The Owls had an 8-4 lead in the fifth set, but could not withstand a Spartan rally.
Florida Atlantic will look for their first win tomorrow when they return to the court to face USF at 1:00 p.m.
