2011 Pep Rally and Bonfire Photos
Several thousand students and supporters of FAU turned out tonight in Boca Raton for a pep rally outside the alumni center and huge bonfire (yes, WKU mascot "Blob" was incinerated) near the track complex.
Students were treated to free Domino's pizza and "Beat The Hilltoppers" shirts, were entertained by head coach and father of FAU football Howard Schnellenberger and a live band.
Many visitors walked over to the massive new stadium to have their first looks at the $70 million facility, whose ribbon cutting is at 4:30 p.m. Friday and inaugural game is at 4 p.m. Saturday versus Western Kentucky.
Finally, some on-campus spirit and excitement! The area around the stadium and adjacent towers was buzzing tonight as well. It really gives the north side of campus a bigtime college feel.
