Current Standings
A light week on hand for the Sun Belt with some teams on bye weeks…only three games on tap for Saturday, and no mid-week contests in place…here’s the slate:
October 15
Western Kentucky 20 Florida Atlantic 0 *
North Texas 10 Louisiana-Lafayette 30 *
Louisiana-Monroe 38 Troy 10 *
*Denotes Sun Belt Contest
UNT at Lafayette could be interesting…not going to call for the “upset”, but would not be surprised if it happened.
Enjoy…

Sun Belt Football: Games for Week of 10/15/2011
UNT 10 ULL 30
After a close score at halftime, the Cajuns (6-1, 4-0) turn it up in the fourth quarter posting 17 and blanking the Mean Green…in character form, UNT loses again despite winning the TOP battle.

ULM 38 Troy 10
At least we aren't the only "once top of the conference" program who is suffering…The Trojans managed just 126 yards of net offense against the Warhawks today.

Offensive
Kolton Browning (Louisiana-Monroe, So., QB)
Kolton Browning led an unstoppable ULM offense that put up 35-unanswered points against five-time defending Sun Belt Conference champion to close out the game. Browning finished the contest 23-of-31 for 275 yards and three touchdowns through the air; he also added 33 yards on nine carries on the ground to top the 300-yard mark in total offense. The Warhawks outgained the Trojans 325-6 in the second half as they handed them their worst home loss in Larry Blakeney's career. Browning led the Warhawks to five touchdowns on their final six drives of the game to hand Troy just its 13th home loss in Blakeney's 21-year career at the helm of the Trojans.
Defensive
Lance Kelly (Louisiana-Lafayette, So., LB)
Lance Kelley played a big key in the Cajuns 30-10 victory over North Texas…The senior linebacker notched a game-high eight tackles, a tackle-for-loss, a fumble recovery, a pass-break-up and an interception…With the Mean Green trailing just 13-10 in the second quarter and driving to the Cajuns 28-yard line, Kelley recovered a Lance Dunbar fumble to end the scoring threat…Kelley’s fourth quarter interception at the North Texas 42-yard line was returned to the 31-yard line and set-up a Cajuns touchdown that pushed a 10-point lead to 17 points with 8:55 remaining in the game…Kelley and the Cajuns defense shutout the Mean Green in the second half, allowing just 108 yards of total offense over the final two quarters (60 of which occurred on NT’s final drive of the game in the final 44 seconds)…Dunbar, the SBC’s third leading rusher was held to 53 yards on 19 carries (2.8ypc).
Special Teams
Mitchell Bailey (Louisiana-Monroe, Jr., RB)
Mitchell Bailey might well have been the straw that broke the Trojans back as the Warhawks dominated the five-time defending Sun Belt Conference champions. After ULM took a 15-10 lead late in the third quarter, Bailey forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff that the Warhawks recovered on the 17-yard line. Two plays later Kolton Browning threw a touchdown pass to Colby Harper to stretch the ULM lead out to 12 points and the Warhawks never looked back. On ULM's next drive, Bailey also caught a touchdown pass from Browning. He also added a tackle on special teams.
