Arkansas State forward Martavius Adams, a 2011-12 preseason All Sun Belt First Team selection, has been released from the program according to a prepared statement issued by Head Coach John Brady on Monday night.
The 6-8 255 senior big man transfered to the Red Wolves in 2007 after a one year stint at Oklahoma State.
“Throughout my coaching career I have always had a great deal of support for my players. I have always tried to guide, council, disciple and hopefully improve their decision making process as it relates to their membership on the team,” said Brady.
“When this process has been exhausted and the proper behavior has not been reached, then membership on the team can no longer be allowed. This is the case with Martavius Adams.”
While picked to finish atop the West division in the league's preseason coaches poll, the move could have major impact on ASU's success.
Adams posted averages of 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game against Florida Atlantic in his two appearances for the Red Wolves.
