Arkansas State Accepts Bid to Godaddy.com Bowl

Post

Following its 45-19 victory at Middle Tennessee Saturday afternoon that clinched at least a share of the Sun Belt Conference title, the Arkansas State Red Wolves football team officially accepted an invitation to the GoDaddy.com Bowl.

The game will be played Jan. 8 in Mobile, Ala., pitting ASU against a representative from the Mid-American Conference.

The bowl is the first for Arkansas State since the 2005 New Orleans Bowl.  Red Wolves head coach Hugh Freeze accepted the invitation from GoDaddy.com Bowl officials in the locker room following ASU’s win over Middle Tennessee.  With Saturday’s victory over the Blue Raiders, ASU improved to a perfect 7-0 in Sun Belt Conference action and 9-2 overall on the season.  The Red Wolves can clinch the league title outright with loss by Western Kentucky  in either of its final two games, or an ASU victory over Troy in the Dec. 3 regular-season finale.

Arkansas State Accepts Bid to Godaddy.com Bowl

Was/is there a chance for them to get a bigger bowl game with their record?

Would have waited to see myself. A 10-2 ASU is a much better choice than many and as I have said, sad they they are doing the GoDaddy bowl in Mobile whi the BigEast "Champion" will probably have 5 loses yet go the a BCS Bowl for the $17M, and ASU can definately beat them!
