In the Sun Belt, the days starts early with Western Kentucky trying to put an exclamation point on their breakthrough year against the Trojans as one score favorites. The Panthers also battle a struggling Blue Raider squad in Murfreesboro.
In non conference action the Owls will try and win one for the gipper against the late blooming Blazers, while ULL plays a tough one against the Wildcats out West.

Troy 6 WKU 14
Should have been even more for the Toppers as they missed 3 FG's for the period.

Troy 18 WKU 41
WKU finishes 2011 7-5, and 7-1 in Sun Belt play, and Taggert should get Coach of the year for the turn around.

UAB 35 FAU 38
Only one thing to say about this one - it's about time.
Well, maybe two:
Nice job, Alfred Morris.

ULL 37 Arizona 45
Cajuns catch fire in the fourth quarter racking up 21 points to provide a scare for the Wildcats with 5:05 still remaining. But 106 yards in penalties pay undesired dividends overall.

Offensive
Bobby Rainey (WKU, Sr., RB)
Bobby Rainey became WKU’s all-time leading rusher on Saturday, surpassing Lerron Moore on the career list with a season-high 227-yard effort as the Hilltoppers won their seventh game of the year 41-18 over Troy. Rainey found the end zone three times in the game – his second three-rushing score game of the season. Thanks to his second straight 200-yard effort, Rainey also broke WKU’s single-season rushing record, ending the regular season with 1,695 yards. He fell just 19 yards short of break at record in 2010 (set by Joe Arnold in 1988 with 1,668 yards). Rainey carried a season-high 43 times against the Trojans, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. He now leads the nation for the second straight season in carries, and broke his own school record with 369 attempts on the season.
Defensive
Jemarlous Moten (Louisiana-Lafayette, DB)
With his two interceptions in the game, Jemarlous Moten helped the Cajuns tie a 40-year old NCAA record thanks to a 41-yard interception return for a touchdown…Moten’s other interception also led to a Cajuns touchdown…He had a team-high nine tackles (8 solo) and a tackle-for-loss on the afternoon…The Cajuns now have seven “pick six” touchdowns on the year, equaling that of the 1971 Tennessee Volunteers…Both of Moten’s INT touchdowns have come against two of the best quarterbacks in the nation, as his first was against Oklahoma State’s Brandon Weedon, with the other against Arizona’s Nick Foles.
Special Teams
Brett Baer (Louisiana-Lafayette, K/P)
Brett Baer had a spectacular day at Arizona as the Cajuns kicker/punter…Among his five punts, Baer booted kicks of 60 yards (downed at the 10-yard line), 50 yards and 48 yards…He had an onside kick and recovered the ball himself, marking his third successful onside kick of the season…Baer kicked a 20-yard field goal and made a fourth-and-11 pass completion of 13 yards on a fake punt.
