Looks like the Owls are going after another JUCO guy…

According to Chris Anderson's twitter, Grimes - a former Ole Miss corner - will visit FAU this upcoming weekend.

Grimes signed with Ole Miss out of Hollywood Hills H.S. back in 2010 over a bunch of other schools and was ranked as the 40th corner in the nation (His old rivals page). After a fall out with the Ole Miss coaching staff he landed on his feet at Arizona Western C.C.. While at Ole Miss he saw action in 9 games as a true freshman and started against Kentucky.

Indiana has also offered Grimes, and he is set to visit them on the 27th. The corner also has offers from USF, Texas Tech and West Virginia.

Would be great to get an ex-SEC guy to come aboard.

Re: CB Tony Grimes

We are getting a bunch of J.C. guys out of Arizona... Is there a scouting or recruiting connection in the state?

I think it's mostly coming from Brett Diersen and Jeff Sims who were both at Indiana together. The Hoosiers hit Arizona hard this year and signed two JUCO guys last month. One of them was the QB at the school Grimes attends.

Re: CB Tony Grimes

This kid had offers from just about every big-time school in the nation in 2009. Let's hope the Owls can lock him up and he can lock it down.

That's going to be a first when finally said:

"The Owls' lock-down corner."

But it sure has a nice ring to it!

Re: CB Tony Grimes

Speculating is fun to do…but let's just asses the moves on defense this "off-season"
Defensive Line - Pelini history(Ndamukong Suh??)
Shalom Ogbanda
Chris Sherwin
Andy Daceus
Linebackers - this was nice..
Adarius Glanton
Defensive Backs - adding play-makers
Jeremy McKnight
*WISH LIST* Lock-Down Corner

I love the idea of this defense matching up against the Sun_Belt next year…especially after practicing against the spread all throughout the spring and training camp

We haven't had one of those in awhile, although I'm sure every CB recruit has been touted as such. Then again, we played so far off the receivers so we "didn't get beat deep" that it was all too easy to move the ball along the margins.

I'm thrilled we're getting JUCO guys who previously had SEC offers.
