My reasoning:
Like the article says, he has not been able to judge the talent.
At this point we're not getting any great high school kids. We were late on the scene and that's to be expected. These kids were recruited months ago.
The Juco guys will be here for two years. This gives Pelini the option to go after high school kids this spring and summer. When they do enroll most will be redshirted, do the math, all these juco guys will be graduating in two years, the same year his first true recruiting class will be hitting the field in fall of 2014.
I don't think anybody is looking to go undefeated next year, but a 7-6 or 7-5 season is what we're hoping for and the possibility of a bowl game again. With 10 Juco starters, that could be possible.

This.
And then you pick up 2-3 per year to plug holes from from either graduation or kids who didnt work out as intended. As long as its not 7-10 per year every year then Im ok with this plan.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

If it gets us winning seasons and bowl eligibility and a couple of NFL picks every year I can live with it! ;D

I agree with him that bringing in JUCO players carries some risk (like grades), but the reward is high (immediate impact). Plus, Pelini has a lot of experience with JUCO players. He knows the process and the coaches from these JUCO programs.
