Owls at a Glance
The Owls defeated Arkansas State 58-50 in the season's earlier meeting in Jonesboro. Alex Tucker scored 16 points and dished out seven assists in the win.
Florida Atlantic enters the contest on a four game losing streak and will be seeking an inaugural victory in Hot Springs after losing in the first round each of the last two seasons.
Tucker has averaged 13.8 points, 6.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds in his four career meetings against the Red Wolves.
Red Wolves at a Glance
Arkansas State dropped their final two contests of the regular season by a combined five points (WKU 76-79, UALR 60-62).
Senior forward Malcoln Kirkland was named third-team All-Sun Belt Conference for 2011-12 on Wednesday after posting 13.1 ppg in conference action, and pulling down 6.0 rebounds per game (2nd ASU).
Junior guard Trey Finn earned Sun Belt Player of the Week recognition behind a 55.6% 3PT showing against Troy (6-of-9) and FIU (4-of-9) on February 16th and 18th respectively.
Latest Line:
FAU -2
Owl's Nest Prediction
This one should be about as close as they come in the end, as it's really a toss up on paper. Additionally, momentum doesn't favor either squad, as each has struggled down the stretch. The Owls own a four game slide at present, with the Red Wolves going just 3-7 over the last 10 contests.
However, given the edge Arkansas State will have in fan attendance being just three hours away by car from the Convention Center, have to reluctantly give them the nod.
ASU -3
