One more note on #FAU. RHP R.J. Alvarez, a very solid prospect, was at 94 FB today with a plus curveball. Arm to watch. #SunBelt #mlbdraft

This should help his cause…per FAU Baseball SID Dale Long today:

"Florida Atlantic University relief pitcher R.J. Alvarez has been named to the mid season watch list for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association “Stopper of the Year” Award.  He is one of 45 pitchers on the list.

Alvarez, a junior right hander from Royal Palm Beach is a perfect 7-for-7 in save opportunities, has a 3-0 record and an impressive 0.65 earned run average this season.  He has recorded 36 strikeouts and only seven walks in 27.2 innings.

Last weekend (April 13-15), Alvarez tallied two saves during FAU’s road series victory at the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
