Very excited for tommorrow. Sounds like Coach did his homework. Now lets see the product.

"Five years ago there were 500 students living on campus. Now there's 8,000."
(We'll have 4,200 next Fall and probably 4,800 the Fall after that)
Here's a great quote:
"When I took this job, I called places like Boise State and spoke to their staff staff and asked how they made that step to the next level. And I think the big answer I got from everybody was hey, you have to get the students involved, it has to become part of the campus experience and you have to get the community behind you which is what we've been trying really hard to do since I got here.
He gets it. How do you do it?
"We were just counting the other day. I've done 57 appearances, everywhere from chamber of commerce to rotary houses to local high schools, just pushing our brand… give them a product they can be excited about. As we look forward at scheduling, we're looking at doing a home and a home with recognizable brand names, a West Virginia, a Minnesota, Purdue, teams with a brand name. They all want to come here. I've got more calls from major BCS schools wanting to do a home-and-home with me because they want the recruiting exposure in South Florida.
Oh man… WVU.
And then he talked about "cleaning up the stadium experience" and "make it a big-time gameday experience."

Did teams just start calling us about this? Or has it been going on and Schnelly/Angelos just were not interested?
Also, are teams asking fiu the same thing? Or are we more attractive to other FBS teams for some reason?

Guarantee we sell out if we can get WVU down here. Absolutely no question we sell out.
Miami @ FAU in 2015 should be a sellout too.
Purdue, I don't know.
Pelini's got the pull at Nebraska, Chun has pull at Ohio State… wonder if either one would come here. More likely Nebraska, you'd think.

If we got Nebraska or Ohio State down here…. wow. I do not even know what to say.

Actually, I have a question.

Nobody wanted to play at Lockhart. So we probably only started fielding serious inquiries in the last year or two.

Yes, FIU has had Duke and Louisville and will host Texas A&M in 2013, Pittsburgh in 2014. But the inference during the interview was that people were newly interested because they had a previous relationship with Pelini and wanted to play against his new team.
Pays to know people.
