- Gainesville running back Raphael Webb was suppose to be visiting the Owls this weekend, but he informed me that he has pushed that date back to after the season. Webb holds offers Rutgers, Utah, Middle Tennessee State, South Alabama and the Owls, but doesn’t have a leader.
- While on the topic of visits, wide receiver commit Kamrin Solomon will be taking his official visit in December. He was originally suppose to be on campus this weekend, but elected to change the date in order to take full advantage of the weekend. Solomon has 25 catches this season for 340 yards and three touchdowns. He has also blocked four kicks. Here is a linkto his senior season highlight video.
- Chamberlin athlete Ronnie Scott told me that his ankle is fine after injuring it last week. Scott is his high school’s starting quarterback, but is being recruited by the Owls as either a wide receiver or defensive back. That doesn’t mean the athlete isn’t opposed to throwing passes, as he mentioned that he is open to the idea.

Then when it becomes an issue, it becomes a BIG issue.
As we all saw last weekend…….

This is a very important class to turn this program around. I know it's premature but what's your early impression of this class to date?

Our current kicker had been doing a good job on XP's just has to rememeber to get the same lift with any FG under 40 yards as if you watch his XP's, they would EASILY carry 40 yards - they have looked really nice!

- Creekside kicker Tommy Openshaw will be taking an unofficial visit this weekend to watch the Troy game. Openshaw was offered by Special Teams Coordinator Brett Diersen a few weeks ago and will be on hand to see the Owls in action this Saturday. The kicker holds scholarship offers from the Vanderbilt, Air Force and Navy. The specialist told me that he doesn’t have a leader yet and is approaching FAU with an “open mind.” Openshaw has a career long of 56 yards and connected on 14 field goals his junior season.

Tampa Chamberlin? That awkward moment when your alma mater injures your college's recruit.

Just wanted to say that you do a great job, Andrew. Glad we have a resident recruiting guru to keep us up-to-date.

Thanks, just trying to provide the fans with some positives!
My opinion on the class thus far: it's strange. I'm not really sure how it's going to turn out (not saying that's a bad thing though). I expect in December another run on 4-5 JUCO players to fill needs. In terms of the high schoolers, I think we have some solid prospects in Austin Bland and the trio from Pine Forest. It seems the staff is really focused on the Northern parts of Florida, which I think many fans don't agree with, but that's what they are paid to do. So I think the class is good and a step in the right direction thus far.

Saw mention yesterday about a 4 star visiting the game with 30 offers but FAU not releasing his name, any idea who it was?
The kid told me not to post his name, but he was the real deal. So out of respect I didn't put it out there.
FAU never released anything, we tweeted it. That was our information, that I came across.
