Since we are suffering from withdrawals this past weekend, putting the game week thread up a little early…

;D

Accordingly, lines are not out yet.

Given the offense ULL has been putting up as of late, thinking Owls +10 will be near the opening…….

This game is winnable. A win would also keep us from sharing last place excluding USA who is a probationary team this year.

They have a mobile QB. A spread QB. Just like the other  winning teams in the SBC.

Actually Illinosowl, if USA was bowl eligible they could go, because UCF is on probation for recruiting violations and has a bowl ban. As much as I would love to see the Owls get a look at players for next season, lets play spoiler for ULL this week.

This is one of those games that doesn't mean much to final records but means alot come National Signing Day and next season.

Actually UCF has filed an appeal with the NCAA and is eligible and going to play in a bowl game this year. That and too many other 5-7 teams ahead of them in APR rating if they have to let any 5-7 teams play in a bowl this year.
But who'd a thunk the Belt would EVER have 5 bowl eligible teams AND all 5 get to play on top of that! The ACC and CUSA sucked this year!

And now ULL has accepted the invite to go to the New Orleans bowl so no pressure on them and "maybe" they rest a few starters vs. us as the game means nothining to them now, other than Cajun pride.

Make THIS your bowl game Owls, defend your home turf and upset ULL!

ULL Game Notes from Saturday's win over USA…

The Cajuns are coming off a 52-30 win over South Alabama on Saturday, a win that improved the Cajuns record to 8-4 on the year and 5-2 in Sun Belt games. A win over the Owls will allow the Cajuns to finish in a second place tie in the final league standings.

Following the South Alabama win, Louisiana-Lafayette accepted an invitation to play a Conference USA school in the 2012 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 22 in New Orleans. After ending a 41-year bowl-less stretch last year, the Cajuns will appear in bowls in back-to-back years for the first time in program history.

The win over South Alabama improved the Cajuns to 5-1 at home this year and 10-1 in the two seasons under head coach Mark Hudspeth.

Senior Harry Peoples continued his remarkable senior campaign, making five catches for 166 yards and a touchdown. In his last five games, Peoples has made 41 catches for 513 yards and three touchdowns to move into fourth in the Sun Belt in both catches (60) and yards (772).

Kicker Brett Baer was perfect on all seven extra point attempts to break the school records for career extra points made (112) and attempted (119). He surpassed Drew Edmiston, who was 108-for-114 from 2006-08.

Quarterback Terrance Broadway was 11-for-19 for 305 yards passing, his third 300-yard passing game of the season. Broadway ranks fourth in Cajuns history in total offense in a season (2,896) and is sixth in passing yards (2,358).
