NEW YORK - The New York Yankees have claimed right-hander Mickey Storey off waivers from the Houston Astros.

The 26-year-old was 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA in 26 relief appearances after making his major league debut in August. He was 7-4 with a 3.05 ERA this year at Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Mickey Storey Called Up by Toronto

Storey posted a 3.93 ERA in seven relief appearances for Buffalo. The 26-year-old had a 3.86 ERA in 30 1/3 innings as a rookie with the Astros last season.

Former Florida Atlantic University pitcher Mickey Storey is once again playing in the major leagues after being called up to the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday. The 2008 graduate made his big-league debut last season with the Houston Astros.

The right hander went 0-1 with a 3.86 earned run average in 26 games with the Astros.

Storey concluded his FAU career ranking second in program history with 292 strikeouts, and is tied for second with 23 career pitching victories.  He threw the program’s last no-hitter in 2006 against Campbell University after being named the 2005 National Freshman of the Year by Collegiate Baseball.
