Re: 2012-13 NCAA Bowl Schedule - Four SBC Teams Included
For the first time in the Sun Belt Conference’s 12 years of football the league will be sending four teams to postseason bowl games as selections were finalized Sunday night.
League champions Arkansas State will be playing in the GoDaddy.com Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on January 6. The Red Wolves will face Kent State which has an 11-2 record on the year. The Red Wolves won the Sun Belt title outright after a 45-0 win over Middle Tennessee Saturday.
WKU will be making its first postseason appearance when the Hilltoppers play Central Michigan in the Little Caesar’s Pizza Bowl. The Hilltoppers became only the second team in Sun Belt history to have a 3-1 record in regular season non-conference play earlier this season. The game will take place in Detroit on December 26.
Louisiana-Monroe was selected to play in the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl against Ohio. It is the Warhawks first trip to a bowl game and the announcement that they would play in the game came Saturday. ULM will play the Bobcats on December 28 in Shreveport.
Louisiana-Lafayette was selected to play in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl for the second consecutive year. The Cajuns will play East Carolina on December 22 in New Orleans. The selection of the Cajuns in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl came on November 24.
All of the bowl games featuring Sun Belt teams will be featured on ESPN.

Wow, no MTSU? Didn't they finish with 8 wins this season? I'm shocked. Didn't that happen to WKU last season? 8 wins and now bowl?
2011 record was 7-5 overall, 7-1 in the SBC, and no Bowl.
Their only conference loss was to ASU 22-26, who was 8-0 in SBC play.
However, the Hilltoppers beat ASU this year 26-13 in their only loss.

MTSU's argument should be that they beat Ga Tech - who went bowling at 6-7.
Beat 'em? DESTROYED THEM AT GT! Sad for MTSU and again why we should all be VERY glad our days in the Belt are nearly over!

FINAL:
Toledo 15 Utah State 41
A lackluster offensive showing by both teams results in a 13-6 score at the break.
But the Aggies got three fourth quarter rushing touchdowns from Kerwynn Williams (235 yards overall), as No. 18 Utah State earned its first Bowl win since 1993.
The Rockets were in red zone scoring position on five occasions, but came away with just three FG's, and managed no touchdowns for the contest.

FINAL:
BYU 23 San Diego State 6
In a true defensive battle, the Cougars cash in on two scores from LB linebacker Kyle Van Noy.
San Diego State QB Adam Dingwell struggled with three interceptions in the loss, which snapped a seven game win streak for the home field Aztecs.
The Cougar ground game managed only 31 yards from lead back Jamaal Williams, but 14 of those accounted for the game's lone touchdown.
