Florida Atlantic University has reached an enrollment milestone this year, with at least 30,000 students enrolled.
That's up from 29,313 last year. The exact figures for this year haven't been confirmed yet, but should be a couple of hundred above the 30,000 mark, officials said.

Those are some seriously nice numbers, to me especially the fact that all 50 state and 180 COUNTRIES are included in our current enrollment. Truly a World class University!

Freshman class was 4,223 people.
Top 5 undergraduate majors: Biological Sciences, Psychology, Elementary Education, Accounting and Criminal Justice.
Freshman admittance rate: 39%
Side note:
Medical school admittance rate: 2% (I sh*t you not) … 2,913 applications for 64 spots. 64 admitted, 64 enrolled. Serious business.

Hey Owl 2 Doc, any word on when they're going to start the renovations on the breezeway? I'm getting really sick of seeing the breezeway leak when it rains
Supposed to be this year. They like to start projects over the summer session because having way fewer students on campus means fewer people to bitch and moan about the inconvenience of construction.
So I'd project Summer A for Breezeway Renovation. The Student Union stuff could begin very soon and Parking Garage 3 is supposed to break ground this month.
Facilities has been super quiet since October but when I find out more I'll let you know.

Can someone from the UP write up this story? It's gotta be worth something.
ERROR: A link was posted here (url) but it appears to be a broken link.
Here's my source (page 3, Medicine)Admitting 64 and enrolling 64, 100% enrollment, has to be unheard of too. The top med school in the nation is Johns Hopkins and I'd imagine that would have the highest yield of all med schools but if you get into Johns Hopkins you usually get into other highly-ranked places like Harvard, WashingtonU St. Louis, UCSF and Duke, so I wouldn't be surprised if even Johns Hopkins doesn't have 100% enrollment yield.
EDIT: Talked this out with some med school friends and they pointed out that obviously the criterion for selection is different at Harvard than at FAU. In particular, the average MCAT (medical college admissions test) is 5 points higher at Harvard, which is expected, meaning that if you have a 31 (FAU's average MCAT) you wouldn't have the same chances at Harvard Med (36 MCAT) as you would at FAU. Furthermore, as the list above is 2011 applicants and FAU's acceptance rate that particular year was 4.3%, so it was not better than Harvard. If this list was redone for 2012-2013 data, FAU should be on it, unless competition for spots got so fierce that everybody was in the low 2's for 2012-2013.
Also apparently the acceptance/enrollee number is incorrect because a friend of mine knows accepted students who eventually matriculated elsewhere. If this is true, and it seems true because FAU had 100% enrollment yield in the last two years, why are these numbers being reported as official?

In case viewers missed my earlier post. ;D
FAU's profile is comparable to FGCU or UWF but neither of them have the facilities to take more students; thus the C+ to B minus HS grads are starting to flock to FAU. Its a chain reaction they used to flock toward FIU which raised thier standard thus causing FAU to get me applications. If FGCU could get PECO funds they would be in FAU shoes, given the age of the university it speaks volumes for FAU.
Silly FAUer you use a site that is made for kids who will end up at Keller or Phoenix. Which is why they are OPTIONS. College Portrait is what HS guidance counselors use, they also don't list for profits schools.
NCF FTIC has ACT scores from 27-31
New College of Florida College Portrait
UNF FTIC has ACT scores from 23-26
University of North Florida College Portrait
FAU FTIC has ACT scores from 21-25
College Portrait
Point was you are last in the line of the schools which can take more students; which neither FGCU and UWF can do without building more buildings. It is about capacity which hopefully even a FAU grad can comprehend.
Congrats on the increase in apps but its because your profile is weak that your enrollment increased !
