Series:      Miami leads the all-time series 52-10 and was able to rally for a 5-4 extra-innings victory in Boca Raton earlier this season.

Projected Pitchers:

FAU -  RHP Seth McGarry  (2-0, 3.00 ERA)
Miami - RHP Javi Salas      (2-2, 4.60 ERA)

Florida Atlantic returns to the diamond Wednesday night to face a familiar opponent in Miami. Having taken a three game series from Arkansas State over the weekend, the Owls will be looking to add a resume-worthy win over the Hurricanes.

Freshman Seth McGarry will be making his first start in two weeks after picking up a win over Maine in his last outing. The right hander has appeared in two games this season and has yet to give up an extra base hit.

Countering him on the mound will be Miami's Javi Salas - who had been a weekend starter until a shuffle in the rotation. Salas struggled in his last start, giving up seven earned runs to North Carolina in just two and a third innings of work.

The Owls will try and get after Salas early, but will have to rely on their offense which has often hurt themselves this season. The squad leads the Sun Belt Conference with 16 grounders that have been turned for a double play and coincidentally had two against Miami last month.

First baseman Mark Nelson ranks fifth in the conference with five home runs and will look to extend his seven game-hit streak. Freshman designated hitter Brandon Sanger appears to have found his niche in the lineup after a game-winning hit on Sunday.

The Hurricanes are led by first baseman David Thompson, who sports a .289 batting average and has nine extra base hits on the year. Thompson, who is also a quarterback for Miami's football team, has been battling soreness in his shoulder and is questionable for the game.

FAU is 4-2 on the road this season and hasn't won at Miami in two years.

Things still tied here. McGarry has given up just two hits thus far, but he's on a limited pitch count.
