Florida Atlantic University baseball players Hugh Adams, Austin Gomber and Nathan Pittman were named to the Sun Belt All-Conference Team, which was announced at the SBC pre-tournament banquet on Tuesday.

Gomber, a sophomore starter from Winter Garden, and Adams, a senior reliever from Bethesda, MD earned First Team All-Sun Belt honors as pitchers. Gomber went 5-4 on the season, and recorded a conference best 2.80 ERA while tallying 88 strikeouts to just 25 walks in 86.2 innings of work. He was named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week after throwing 7.1 shutout innings in a win over FIU earlier this season.

Adams returned to the mound in 2013 after missing last season due to an injury. He leads the Sun Belt in saves this season with 15, and is tied for the all-time career lead in conference history with 28. Adams also threw four innings in relief earlier this season against Western Kentucky to pick up a win. Gomber and Adams helped guide the Owls’ pitching staff to a league best 3.63 team ERA.

Senior Nathan Pittman was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team as an outfielder. The Bradenton native is second on the team with a .339 batting average, including a .367 average in Sun Belt play. He has tallied a team-high 13-game hitting streak and leads the team in hits (63), stolen bases (11) and on-base percentage (.463). Pittman also is tied for the team lead with 40 runs scored this season.
