Florida Atlantic University’s football game on Friday, August 30 at the University of Miami will be televised by ESPNU and kickoff at 8 p.m., as announced today by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The game at Sun Life Stadium will be FAU’s first as a member of Conference USA. It’s also the first meeting between the programs and the season opener for both teams.
There are currently 47 members of the FAU football team from the tri-county area, which makes this game another “home game” for the Owls. With five home games and two away games played in Florida – Miami and USF –the Owls will play a total of seven times in the state. ESPNU’s coverage of the game increases FAU’s television appearances to five, with the opportunity for other contests to be picked up at a later date.
The Miami game is the first of a three-game series with the Owls. FAU will play host to the Hurricanes in 2015, with a date yet to be determined. The game will mark the first time the Hurricanes will play in Palm Beach County and the first time they play a road game south of Tampa, Fla. FAU will return to Miami in 2016.
