Especially in this watered down CUSA. Play the year with attitude and earn the respect you lack but deserve guys!

This New Sun Belt vs. New C-USA piece by Wes Johnson at Trojanbeat sums things up pretty well…
Bottom line:
The Owls' new situation is very similar to what they are leaving.

Re: FAU Football Light on Phil Steele's 2013 Pre-Season All C-USA Teams
BOCA RATON, Fla. (June 19, 2013) - Five Florida Atlantic University football players have garnered preseason magazine recognition.
Offensively, junior wide receiver William Dukes was named to the Phil Steele Magazine's 2013 Preseason All-CUSA Team as a third team selection. The Owls, who will be an official member of Conference USA as of Monday, July 1, were led by Dukes in 2012. The lanky receiver tallied 63 catches for 979 yards and earned second team All-Sun Belt, the league in which FAU formerly competed. At season's end, Dukes was named FAU's Offensive MVP. He recorded five or more catches in all but one game and had a season and career high nine catches twice. Dukes' final game as a sophomore saw him tally 204 yards, a new program record, and an individual high two touchdowns including the program's sixth longest touchdown reception of 75 yards.
Senior offensive lineman Mustafa Johnson joined Duke's on Steele's third team. Johnson transferred to FAU in 2012 and earned the starting center spot to open the season. His maturity and leadership skills made him an integral part of the line and the team's transition from a pro-style offense to an up-tempo spread. With the loss of three senior linemen, Johnson inserted himself as the offensive line's vocal statesman following the final game of 2012.
Senior tight end Nexon Dorvilus earned a spot on the 2013 CollegeFootballPerformance.comwatch list. Dorvilus saw action in every game as a junior and finished his campaign with 30 receptions for 301 yards. He was one of seven receivers to record a touchdown reception and led all with five scores. He had a season high six receptions and 78 yards versus Troy University. At season's end he earned second team All-Sun Belt honors and was named the team's Student-Athlete of the Year.
Defensively, the Owls had two players earn recognition from Phil Steele's Magazine. Linebackers Andrae Kirk, a junior, earned third team honors while senior Randell Johnson was listed on the fourth team. Kirk concluded his sophomore campaign fourth on the squad, second among 2013 returners, in total tackles with 70. He recorded four tackles for a loss of five yards. Johnson recorded 21 tackles, three for a loss of 19 yards, including two sacks.
FAU will open the 2013 season on Friday, Aug. 30 versus the University of Miami at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens. The Owls will open the home schedule with fellow Conference USA member Middle Tennessee State University on Saturday, Sept. 21 at FAU Stadium, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.
