Former Notre Dame wide receiver Justin Ferguson was in Boca Raton Friday morning touring Florida Atlantic University.
Ferguson, a dynamic wide receiver, left Notre Dame back in March and is seeking a transfer after just one year with the Fighting Irish.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Ferguson attended nearby Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, and was graded as a four-prospect coming out of high school.
He played his true freshman season at Notre Dame and caught one pass for nine yards while seeing action in 11 games.
Ferguson's father told FauOwlsNest.com that his son is considering a "few" other schools as possible transfer destinations.
The wide receiver has three years of eligibility remaining and an additional redshirt season. He could enroll this fall and sit out the season while redshirting and practicing with the team.
FAU has courted a few transfer wide receivers recently, but none of them panned out. Duron Carter joined the program after stints at Ohio State and Alabama before leaving for a chance with the NFL. West Virginia's Ivan McCartney was rumored to be transferring to FAU, but he decided to stay with the Mountaineers.
