ODU campus plan includes new stadium proposal

If Old Dominion follows through on a proposal for a new 30,000-seat, on-campus football stadium, several new conference mates have recent blueprints on how to proceed.
Fellow Conference USA schools Florida Atlantic and the University of North Texas completed 30,000-seat stadiums two years ago. Charlotte prepares to christen a 15,000-seat stadium that can expand to 40,000, for its fledgling program.
ODU chief operating officer David Harnage presented the outline of a comprehensive plan to the Board of Visitors Monday that included a proposal for a new stadium to be located on the west side of campus, just blocks from the Elizabeth River, the Virginian-Pilot reported.
