A big week of Conference USA action is ahead, spread over three days.

Thursday night will witness Iowa State and Tulsa meeting for the third time in 13 months.  The Cyclones won the 2012 regular season opener in Ames, Iowa, 38-23, but the Golden Hurricane took the AutoZone Liberty Bowl meeting on New Year’s Eve in Memphis, 31-17.

Friday night football is on tap when Middle Tennessee goes west to face BYU for the first time.  The Blue Raiders are off to a 3-1 start and have won eight of their last 10 games heading to Provo, Utah.

Just one conference game is on Saturday’s schedule as Florida Atlantic visits Rice. It’s only fitting that the first matchup of the Owls and the Owls takes place at night, with kickoff at Rice Stadium set for 7:00p.

The inaugural Heart of Dallas Classic will be held when Louisiana Tech faces Army at historic Cotton Bowl Stadium. The first meeting between the schools will take place as part of the opening weekend festivities at the State Fair of Texas State Fair.

UTSA will welcome Houston to the Alamodome in the first meeting between Texas schools that are just three hours apart.

C-USA will have a pair of matchups with the Mountain West, as UTEP visits Colorado State and Southern Miss will close the day’s contests at Boise State.  The conference also has games at ACC and SEC schools on the docket, as East Carolina plays at North Carolina and UAB travels to Vanderbilt.
