The series:

The two schools have met twice before, with Boston College owning a 2-0 advantage. The last meeting came back in 2007 when the Golden Eagles beat FAU 68-62. The Owls led 53-45 midway through the second half, but went six minutes without a field goal.

FAU at a Glance:

After opening the season with a win, FAU has dropped back-to-back games to St. Francis and Duke. The Owls got pounded 97-64 by the Blue Devils on Friday, but showed some signs of life.

Pablo Bertone scored a team-high 17 points while Justin Raffington tallied a career-high 14 points and eight rebounds.

While the score wasn't close, coach Mike Jarvis believes the loss was beneficial.

"If you come in and you compete, we didn’t play great but we competed, I think you can get a lot out of it," Jarvis said.

Dragan Sekelja continued to see a high volume of minutes against Duke and finished with seven points in 30 minutes of action. Last season Sekelja was often regulated to the bench midway through games, but this year he is averaging almost twice the number of his usual minutes per game.

Raffington has also seen his services increase game-by-game, as the junior transfer was a fixture in the lineup against Duke. Raffington and Sekelja appear to gel together when both are on the court, and feed off each other offensively. The duo will get another test against Boston College, as the Eagles sport a lengthy front court.

Kelvin Penn was limited against Duke, which meant guard Richard Morrow started the game. Morrow, who is a former walk-on, has now started 10 contests over the last two seasons.

The Owls are 3-12 in their last 15 games away from home.

Boston College at a Glance:

After being pegged by the media in the preseason to finish 8th in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Boston College is off to a surprising 0-3 start. The Eagles fell  95-92 to Toldeo in their home opener on Thursday, after leading by as much as 12 points.

Sophomore Olivier Hanlan has been the lone brightspot for coach Steve Donahue, as the guard is averaging 20.0 points and 3.7 assists through the team's first three games.

Hanlan was selected as the ACC Rookie of the Year last season after exploding for 41 points against Georgia Tech. The 6-foot-4 point guard has played for the Canadian National Team, and posses the ability to score in a variety of ways.

Complimenting him in the lineup is forward Ryan Anderson, who is averaging 19.3 points per game. The junior has outside range behind the arc, but can also play under the basket. Anderson is the cousin of FAU football offensive linemen Mustafa Johnson. The two grew up together in the Lakewood, Ca. area.

Boston College finished last season with a 16-17 record and failed to make an NCAA Tournament appearance for the fourth straight year. The Eagles are the only team in the ACC this season without a win.

Latest Line:

BC -17.5

Owl's Nest Prediction

The Owls limp into Chestnut Hill after being throttled by Duke on the road. Boston College was expected to have a few wins under their belt at this point in the season, but that's not that case. FAU's freshmen guards will have to contain Hanlan while also looking to mock his offensive production. In the end we believe that the Eagles are too talented for the Owls, but this one could be close for a half.

BC -15 +

Line agrees with you Andrew…now down a point.

I dunno on this one…BC is struggling, but has potential.

Will be interesting to see how our guards play from a scoring standpoint, that will likely determine the outcome.

Good luck to Jarvis and company. Has a chance to be a HUGE win, but they are an ACC team so a 20 pt loss is a reasonable assumption.
