"A Tallahassee detective allegedly told an accuser’s attorney that Tallahassee is a “big football town” and her client’s life could “be made miserable” if she pursued a sexual assault case against Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston"

Rest of the story here.

I think the fact that she said the perp was between 5'9'-5'11' is all Winston's lawyers will need to create doubt if this ever goes anywhere.  This still sheds an ugly light on the Tallahassee Police Dept though

Not sure what it was and how it will affect the investigation, but saw on ESPN they did find his DNA on the victim.

"The DNA finding is not proof of Winston's guilt in the case. But it will indicate that Winston and his accuser were in close contact on the night of the alleged incident."

Are we sure this said victim isn't from Alabama?

Story

It doesnt matter they got a DNA hit.

FSU quarterback Jameis Winston's DNA matches a sample taken from the underwear of a woman who has accused him of sexual assault, according to an analysis report obtained by ESPN.com.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement conducted the DNA analysis and the crime lab determined the chances of the DNA in the woman's underwear matching someone other than Winston was one in 2.2 trillion, according to ESPN.com.

She could be legally blind and DNA is still DNA. No jury is going to ignore the fact that his DNA is in her underwear.

owl, one problem for Winston is his "friends" were signing affadavits saying he wasnt there.
They might be facing jail time and be willing to roll over to avoid it.

Yep.

I suppose the fact that she's not pursuing charges anymore means this case is done. If he got away with it, he got away with it…. which is absolutely not okay.

The state prosecutor is actively looking at this case...especially with an FDLE DNA hit.

"Carroll said her client never told police she didn’t want to press charges and is cooperating with the office of State Attorney Willie Meggs in the investigation. The statement said the family “cannot fathom’’ why prosecutors were not told about the case until last week, when it was reopened because of new information."
