Former Washington State linebacker Feddie Davey has transferred to FAU. Davey confirmed in a message that he has enrolled at FAU for the fall semester and will try to walk-on with the Owls this fall.
Davey, who appeared in 17 games for the Cougars over the course of the past two seasons, said he will report to camp on July 30th.
The former two-star recruit was one of ex-coach Carl Pelini’s first recruiting targets at FAU. The Miami Norland product took an official visit to Boca Raton, before eventually signing with Washington State.
Linebacker is one of FAU’s weakest units, as the Owls return just four players who saw game action last season. Redshirt freshman safety Robert Miller has moved to linebacker, but the Owls are looking to add bodies after losing Randell Johnson, Adarius Glanton and Andrew Curtis in the offseason.
Davey, who played primarily special teams at Washington State, would need a hardship waiver to play this season. He left Pullman as a sophomore, meaning he has two years of eligibility remaining along with a redshirt season.
Davey attended orientation at FAU last week.

LB core has in fact received a bump, as Davey is listed on the latest practice roster.

Does he have a hardship opportunity as well?
The NCAA doesnt really hand those out. Wasnt it Frantz Joseph who tried to get one when his mom had cancer or something and they denied that…so its gotta be a better reason than that?? Good luck fellas, but I think I'll see you in 2015.
