Rice 17 #17 Notre Dame 48
Alleged academic cheating slightly hampered a desired first game two deep, but had no affect in the end for the Irish, as they somewhat justified their ranking by taking care of the other C-USA Owls in handy fashion.
It was a four point game with 5:51 to play in the first half, however from there Notre Dame closed on a 34-7 scoring run.

The Panthers are still in search of offense. They totaled 180 yards.
This could explain why they cancelled media day, and later denied a credential to the Miami Herald.

The Sooners raced to a 31-0 lead late in the second quarter, never looking back.
The Bulldogs tried to run at times, but ended with just a 1.9 YPC average off 29 attempts.

The Blue Raiders used a balanced attack to take down the Tigers.
QB Austin Grammer was 15-of-17 through the air, and the running game saw a plethora of backs used.

The Golden Eagle passing game couldn't catch flight, as QB Nick Mullens went 20-of-42 for the affair.
They have now lost 24 of their last 25 games.

UNT plays Texas every year. I think that is the closest I have ever seen it.

Oh man! FIU. Losing two years in a row to the same FCS team. Go BC.

The Defensive Player of the Week honor went to UTSA senior LB Jens Jeters, who led a dominant Roadrunners defense in a 27-7 win at Houston.
The Special Teams Player of the Week award went to FIU senior PR Richard Leonard, who set a school record for punt return yards in a game. C-USA Football Players of the Week are voted on by a panel of the league's media.
