Dukes is getting his job back over woods? Why? Woods was 2 yards away from having a 3 TD game

The information is put out by FAU, and am just passing it along as a courtesy…

Side notes:

Did verify that Ellis is expected to play.

And Warren is "assumed" to be the #2 back.

Don't know how many people follow other C-USA teams extensively on twitter, but HerdNation is one of the better ones.

Always solid coverage and information.

Welcome bud.

I love dropkicks and fat guy touchdowns.

The spread is indeed quite steep, but I know we can cover, whether we do depends heavily on if we keep the receivers and Cato off their game whether that be by a big pass rush or man to man coverage in the perimeter.

Thats what we did last year and although the defense is under new management scheme is scheme and our secondary can play stout and disrupt the big play.

I think something that is being overlooked is how great the O-Line played last week and most of this year.

Aside from UTSA and Bama where they both grabbed three sacks a piece, our O-Line that consists of two true freshman, a redshirt sophomore, and a redshirt junior that has very little game experience has never allowed more than 1 sack in a game. All that considered this youth has still provided sufficient enough play to rush for at least 100 yards in every game except for Bama (And including 105 against Nebraska is a stretch, but whatever).

I know I loved seeing Howell carry the ball, but I hope we see some Jay Warren this week. I think the bench is the best motivator and I hope we can see a one-two punch that involves our young backs.

I am all for running back by committee, but our talent is clearly with our youth.

I am interested to see how the line continues to move throughout the week, but I guess we will see.

Until the next post.

We need to press their recievers and distrupt timing. win the turnover battle . and from what i saw Saturday our dbs need to do a better job at locating the ball in the air and trying to make a play on it. ive seen our dbs not even turn and look for the ball so they cant be in position to jump. And we need to get our TEs more involved DeLeon was running open on multiple occassions Johnson has to go through his reads better and not be afraid to pull the trigger .DeLeon does alot of the dirty work reward him with a couple passes his way. Johnson also needs to play more consistent we cant go from a 300 yard passing game to passing for100 yards.

The biggest difference you'll see in the 2014 Herd from the 2013 squad is the play of the defense and the emergence of a legit rushing attack behind converted TE Devon Johnson. He is 6'1", 243 lbs and runs a 4.5 40. He has rushed for 931 yards on the season, is averaging 133 yards per game and 8.24 yards per carry. He has accumulated those stats having only carried the ball 10 times in the 4th quarter through 7 games. Nine of those ten carries were against Miami(OH).

Through 7 games the Herd offense has passed for 2,031 yards and rushed for 1,993 yards. Someone mentioned not allowing big plays earlier in this thread. That is a must for FAU to pull off a win at JCE Stadium. The Herd has 6 rushing plays of 50+ yards (3rd NCAA), 31 plays of 30+ yards (1st NCAA) and 55 plays of 20+ yards (1st NCAA).

Defensively, the biggest stat for the Herd is on 3rd down. Opponents have only converted 30.1% of the time. The Herd defense is giving up 201 yards passing, 135 yards rushing and 17 points per game.

It's easy to look at our schedule and think the success and stats are due just to it, but that would be a mistake.
