West leader Louisiana Tech (5-0, 6-3) will look to remain unbeaten when it travels to UAB (3-2, 5-4). The Bulldogs have reached bowl-eligibility, while the Blazers need a win to be eligible for the first time since 2004. LA Tech RB Kenneth Dixon is fifth in C-USA in rushing and second in scoring, while UAB’s Jordan Howard is second in rushing with 9 TDs.
Rice (3-1, 5-3) is on a roll with five straight wins as it returns home to face UTSA (2-6, 1-3). The Owls have have won 12 consecutive November home games, dating back to 2007, head coach David Bailiff’s first season. The Roadrunners are looking to get their offense back on track and return to the win column.
New East Division foes FIU (2-3, 3-6) and Old Dominion (3-6, 1-4) meet in Norfolk. Taylor Heinicke and the Monarchs have the league’s second-ranked passing offense, while the Panthers possess the circuit’s top-ranked pass defense.
WKU (1-4, 3-5) welcomes UTEP (5-3, 3-1) for a first-time meeting. Hilltoppers QB Brandon Doughty is the first WKU passer to throw for 3,000 yards, but will be tested by an improving Miners defense that scored two touchdowns off turnovers in posting a third straight victory last Saturday.
Southern Miss (1-4, 3-6) returns to host an unbeaten Marshall team (8-0, 4-0) that is coming off a bye week. The Golden Eagles have passed for more than 300 yards in four straight games, but will face a balanced Thundering Herd offense that ranks second in the FBS at 571.3 yards per game.
Florida Atlantic (3-6, 2-3) travels to North Texas (2-6, 0-4) in a game of teams trying to keep bowl-eligibility hopes alive. Both squads feature outstanding special teams play.
