Five games are on this week's schedule, beginning with a nationally-televised Thursday night contest between divisional foes Southern Miss (3-7, 1-5) and UTSA (2-7, 1-4).  This will be the first meeting between the teams.

The rematch of the 2013 C-USA Championship Game highlights Saturday's schedule as red-hot Rice (6-3, 5-1), winners of six straight, travels to undefeated Marshall (9-0, 5-0), winners of 10 in a row (dating back to last season). The Owls defense has allowed 267.2 yards of total offense over the last five games, more than 200 yards less than its first four games. The Herd enters the game second in the FBS in total offense at 565.7 yards per outing. Rice leads C-USA with 32 sacks, while Marshall has allowed just 10 sacks, second-fewest in the league.

The final 2014 non-conference regular season game begins Saturday's schedule when Army visits WKU (4-5, 2-4). The Hilltoppers already own one victory over a service academy, having won at Navy in September, and have three combined wins over Army and Navy over the past two seasons.

Middle Tennessee (5-4, 4-1) returns from its bye week seeking a win for bowl-eligibility when it travels to FIU (3-7, 2-4). The Blue Raiders balanced offensive attack ranks fourth in C-USA and third in rushing. FIU's pass defense is second in the league and fifth overall.

C-USA Football will continue late into the night, as North Texas (3-6, 1-4) plays at UTEP (5-4, 3-2). The Mean Green had a strong rushing performance in last week's win over Florida Atlantic, but will be going up against the Miners  second-ranked rushing offense.

Florida Atlantic will enjoy a bye week this period.
