Notables
Central Florida began the year with six straight games at home, where they are 5-1 on the season and the only setback being a 95-69 loss to Davidson.
However, the first road swing of the year was not as kind, with the Knights losing back-to-back contests to both Florida State (96-73) and the University of Illinois at Chicago (71-60).
The Knights are 0-3 on the season when opponents register 38 or more total rebounds, or 71 points.
FAU at a Glance
Offense - 61.3 PPG, 43.0% FG, 32.5% 3PT
Defense - 60.7 PGA, 41.4% FGA, 21.1% 3PTA
Rebounding - 30.5 PG Team, 34.3 PG Opponents
Notables
After slow starts in recent years, the Owls will be looking to move to 4-3 for the first time since the 2009-10 season. Freshmen Justin Massey and C.J. Turman had coming out parties in FAU's 72-63 win over East Carolina on December 3rd, posting career highs of 17 and 14 points respectively.
FAU opponents are just 15-of-71 (21.1%) from long range, and that's good enough for a ranking of 2nd nationally. Senior forward Kelvin Penn is 25th in the nation in blocks per outing (2.83).
The Owls won last season’s meeting 75-64 in Boca Raton. Jackson Trapp scored 13 points, Marquan Botley had 11 and Justin Raffington narrowly missed a double-double with eight points while pulling down 12 rebounds.

Shooting not a theme early in this one. Teams are a combined 5-of-19, and O-fer beyond the arc.

C.J.Turman's lay-up pulls FAU within a point. They trail UCF 9-8.
Lacunza with 3 boards and a pair of FT's off the bench for Penn.
