For those of us that follow the great players of baseball or know the name, Mr. Ernie Banks, known as Mr. Cub died today at the age of 83. He was one of the greats. RIP/

Saw that and know of him very well. Born and lived on the FAR south side of Chicago but grew up a Cubs fan in White Sox territory. Banks, Jenkins, Santo, Kessinger, Williams, Beckert! Lived through their collapse in '69 as a 13 year old- ugh. But DID help me learn to deal with disappointments though life, so INVALUABLE to me as an FAU alum and fan, ha ha!
