Notables

After entering conference play ranked 24th in the AP Poll for the first time in school history, Old Dominion has cooled off a bit since conference play. The Monarchs snapped a two-game losing streak last time out as they defeated FIU 71-56 in the friendly confines of the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

Jonathan Arledge and Trey Freeman scored 17 points each as they forced the Panthers into 14 turnovers. Old Dominion is undefeated at home this season with 11 wins and have tied their school record with 15 straight wins at the Constant Center.

The Monarchs are averaging 68 points per game at home this season while keeping opponents to 52.8 points.

FAU at a Glance

Offense - 64.2 PPG, 42.3% FG, 36.5% 3PT

Defense - 64.5 PGA, 43.8% FGA, 25.5% 3PTA

Rebounding - 31.2 PG Team, 35.6 PG Opponents

Notables

After 12 days off, FAU looked rusty as they lost to the Charlotte 49ers 86-61. The 86 points scored was the most FAU has allowed all season and have yet to record a conference victory on the road this season.

Despite the 86 points allowed, FAU is still number one in the NCAA in defensive three point field-goal percentage as they continue to stifle opponents from behind the arc.

Kelvin Penn's 1.8 blocks per game is the fourth best in Conference USA.

With Jackson Trapp out for tonight's game, Justin Massey gets the nod. Limiting turnovers will be critical against ODU. The Monarchs have one of the best defenses in C-USA.

ODU wins the tip and Trey Freeman scores the games first points for the Monarchs. Owls are gonna have a tough time containing him.

Doing well on the boards early. Penn with a nice offensive board. FAU playing with a lot more urgency after their last outing.

After getting down early FAU has 6-0 run to take a early 6-4 lead after the first media timeout. Poole has 4 and Massey has 2.

Freeman is just killing the Owls right now. He has 8 points and is perfect from the field. Owls need to get him out of his groove.

As much as I like Poole's aggresiveness he takes a ton of contested shots. Right now he's 2-6, 0-2 from 3PT.
