In Saturday’s victory at Charlotte, FIU made a season-high 13 shots from beyond the arc. The Panthers’ previous season-high was nine, which came in a win at Florida A&M.
In fact, the last time an FIU team made at least 13 shots from three-point range was on Dec. 28, 2010, as the Panthers fell to Utah Valley, 95-92 in Orem, Utah. At Charlotte, FIU shot 13-21 from long range, a clip of 61.9 percent. Seven total FIU players made at least one three in the game.
Entering Tuesday’s contest with Florida Atlantic, senior guard Dennis Mavin is second in Conference USA in scoring. Mavin is averaging
