Notables

LA Tech used it's balanced attack to defeat MTSU for the firth straight time last Saturday. The 73-62 win places them in a three-way tie for 1st in the C-USA standings along side Western Kentucky and UAB.

The Bulldogs are a perfect 11-0 on the year at home in the Thomas Assembly Center, and lead Conference USA in scoring, scoring margin, blocks, steals, turnover margin, and assist to turnover ratio.

Driving the latter two is the ultra proficient Kenneth Smith, who dishes the rock out 7.75 times per game on average.

There has been no deviation for Tech in the starting lineup all year, with the same five names being called for all 25 contests.

FAU at a Glance

Offense - 62.8 PPG, 40.8% FG, 34.1% 3PT

Defense - 65.0 PGA, 44.1% FGA, 25.7% 3PTA

Rebounding - 32.2 PG Team, 36.4 PG Opponents

Notables

Thanks to the luck of the draw in conference realignment, the Owls will travel to Ruston, LA for the second straight time.

Center Justin Raffington had a double-double performance in the prior meeting with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jackson Trapp added 16 points behind 6-of-12 shooting and D'Andre Johnson pitched in 10 in the 84-64 loss.

Florida Atlantic currently tied with Southern Miss for last place in the league. They will be in a dog fight the rest of the way to try and make the tournament.

FAU hasn't missed a conference tournament for  the last 10 years, most recently happening in the 2004-05 season when a 10-10 mark in the Atlantic Sun was not good enough for entry.

That's not the line, that is my prediction…

 :Big-Grin:

We'll see how close to that the line is when it comes out tomorrow night though.

Via Sean Isabella at The Shreveport Times:

On paper, FAU is a pushover, having lost nine of 10 games in league play, but five games have come by less than 10 points, including an overtime loss to Western Kentucky. Plus, FAU nearly upended UTEP last week.

“Nothing is easy,” White said. “They’ll come in fired up and prepared. They have three guards averaging double figures. They have a lot of girth on the interior, which is what we struggle with.”
