Florida Atlantic is off to its best start since 2009 at 9-2 and is 9-1 at the FAU Baseball Stadium. The Owls are currently on a five-game winning streak at FAU Baseball Stadium after sweeping Monmouth in a three-game series over the weekend. Against Monmouth FAU outscored the Hawks 29-5 while posting 17 extra-base hits.
In addition to Christian Dicks, the Owls may have a future offensive juggernaut in OF Roman Collins (photo). While he is currently tied for 6th in batting for FAU, the Des Moines Area CC transfer also put some healthy numbers against the Hawks (5-of-12) sporting two doubles, a triple, and six RBI over the weekend.
The FAU bullpen pitched 11.1 innings while allowing nine hits, and zero earned runs against the Hawks. After starting pitcher Kyle Miller struggled to open the series by allowing five earned runs, starters Drew Jackson and Robbie Coursel combined to pitch 12 innings, striking out 12, and allowed just six hits in the process.
Sun is setting here at #FAU Baseball Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30. Owls look to extend their home winning streak to 6 vs UNF.
