Nice was one of the ALL-TIME great "wise" guy.  Some of his post game video interviews with Ted Hutton were legendary.  You just could not stop from laughing out loud.

A former Owl who wore #67: Zachary Wichner.

Wichner was a OT from Davie (South Plantation HS).  Named all-county in HS by the Herald. Redshirt season in 2004. In 2005, played in 10 games with 1 start, and played mostly on special teams.  In 2006, saw action in 6 games. Applied to FAU Med school and was quoted as saying, if accepted, he would fore go his senior year on the field. 

He stopped by during the 2013 season, and he was a Doctor!

A former Owl who wore #66: Dewain Akerblom.

Akerblom was a Long Snapper from Fort Lauderdale (Nova). Three-sport athlete in HS (football, wrestling and track). Played his freshman season in 2002, due to team injuries at Center and LS.  Redshirted in 2003.  In 2004, served as the team's long snapper. Won the most improved award at season's end.  In 2005, played in every game as the team's long snapper...snapped 74 times for Mike Brown who averaged 38.8 yards per punt.

Some former Owls who wore #65: Vinny Davino, and Brandon Jackson.

Davino was a OL from Sarasota (Booker HS). Four sport athlete in HS. Chose FAU over Memphis and New Mexico. Injured most of his career. Redshirted in 2011. In 2013, played in 2 games before he had a season-ending injury. Sidelined in 2014 for injury rehab.

Jackson was a OL from Miami (Chaminade Madonna). All-county in HS. Played in 5 games as a true freshman in 2004 and earned 1 start. Redshirted in 2005 due to injury.  In 2006, played in 9 games and was key to the team's conference turn around.  In 2007, played in every game. Moved from Guard to left tackle. part of the line that played well all year and helped get us to the New Orleans Bowl.

Some former Owls who wore #64: Max Karrick, and George Guffey.

Karrick was a OL from Palm City, FL (South Fork HS). First team all-area in HS. Redshirted in 2007.  In 2008, played in 3 games due to injury. In 2009, played in 7 games on the line and special teams.  In 2010, started 10 games and played right tackle, left tackle, and special teams.

Guffey was a OL from Orlando (Dr. Phillips HS). All-county in HS. As true freshman in 2000, made it onto the 2-deep chart in the season no one played. In 2001, played in 6 games. In 2002, began season as the no. 2 center, and quickly moved into the line up due to injury. Played in 9 games that year until an injury sidelined him. named Co-Non-Scholarship MVP. In 2003. played in every game including a few with a broken hand. Named second team Independent I-AA all-star.

Some former Owls who wore #63: Antes Perkins, and DeAndre Williams.

Perkins was a OL from Miramar (Stranahan HS). Second team all-county in HS. Played in 7 games in his first year of 2003, including the semi-final game against Colgate. In 2004, played in 8 games and got his first collegiate start against Troy. In 2005, played in every game and was instrumental in holding the right side of the line together during injuries.

Williams was a OL from Orlando (Oak Ridge HS). Earned all-Central Florida honors in HS. Redshirted in 2009. In 2010, played in 10 games on the OL and special teams. In 2011, played in 8 games on the line and Special teams. In 2012, played in every game and developed into a team leader.

A former Owl who wore #62: Peter Pantelakos.

Pantelakos was a OL from Miami (Miami Sunset HS). Five-sport athlete in HS. District champ honors in wrestling and track. In 2003, was part of the scout team as a true freshman. In 2004, saw action in 2 games. In 2005, played in his hometown against FIU, and was listed on the 2-deep as a blocking fullback.  In 2006, saw action as a lineman.

Some former Owls who wore #61: Eric Minemyer, and Kristopher Rush.

Minemyer was a OL from Hastings, PA (Bishop Carroll HS). Named AP 2nd team all-state in HS. In 2012, worked with the team at tight end. In 2013 returned to the Ol and saw action in 1 game.  In 2014, started 7 games including at Nebraska and at Alabama.  Part of the OL that won the Offensive MVP award against West. Ky.

Rush was a DE from Tallahassee (Lawton Chiles HS). Redshirted in 2004.  In 2005, played in 8 games and had 2 solo tackles against FIU. In 2006, played in 7 games, with strong games against OK State and UNT.  In 2007, played in 3 games and on special teams.
