Nice night at the stadium.  Decent crowd, better than I expected.

Great venue, great first sporting event for recently moved-in Owls as well. Give them that taste of the stadium before football begins next month!

Probably don't usually face No. 7 team in the country though!

North Carolina 3, Florida Atlantic 2  2OT

FAU women's soccer had two crowd-thrilling equalizers, but in the second period of overtime, were overcome by No. 9 North Carolina on Sunday afternoon, 3-2.

“It was a great afternoon, we waited a long time to have a Top-10 opponent finally come to Boca Raton since our arrival here,” said head coach Patrick Baker.

“I told (the team) that we’re not into moral victories anymore, we’ve been in these big environments with a lot of big teams … a lot of times it’s been on the road, but this was our first time at home and we really thought that we were going to pull it out.”

Asta Arnadottir scored for the Owls and had three of the team’s seven attempts. Sammy Rowland threaded her way through three Tar Heel defenders to knot the game up with only 37 seconds on the clock and force overtime play.

Florida Atlantic 1, Stetson 0

Freshman Libby Wissman's first collegiate goal pushed the Florida Atlantic women's soccer team past Stetson on Friday evening at the FAU Soccer Stadium, 1-0.

The two teams muddled through the first half with just four shots each. FAU (3-2-0) came out of the break on the offensive, with Elisha Holmes just missing on an attempt in the first minute, and the team kept up the aggression until they broke through with the lead.
