NOT a good week for CUSA unless playing an FCS team. Biggest surprise is HOW MTSU gave up 47 to VANDY! Mr. Webb ran for over 200 vs. them.

We offered the wrong back (as usual it seems), Webb is an SEC STUD on a bad SEC team and OUR choice sits the bench here. OUCH! Congrats to Mr. Web though, having a great college career!

After catching 11 passes for a career-high 178 yards and three touchdowns, Louisiana Tech senior WR Trent Taylor has been named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week.  The Defensive Player of the Week honor went to Old Dominion senior LB Anthony Wilson, who had 11 tackles and three sacks at Appalachian State.  The Special Teams Player of the Week award went to Southern Miss for the second straight week, as junior KR Allenzae Staggers won after returning a punt for a touchdown.  C-USA Football Players of the Week are voted on by a panel of the league’s media.

Two of the three did it vs. very weak FCS programs (Savannah St. and South Carolina St - NOT the Gamecocks!) if ya want to call some of them that!

I would like to see the make the awards only for those who are excelling vs. FBS programs, not right at all to rewards this and not those playing Power5 teams or at least FBS!
