Softball and that is the result of Coach Joyce. Chun has nothing to do with it. Baseball is great. but not improved. They have been great for a while now.

Florida Atlantic (4-6-1, 2-2-0) posted a dramatic win with Oliver Powers playing hero for the Owls after his game-winning score in the 103rd minute to lift FAU over (RV) New Mexico.

A defensive battle between the teams held strong for 73 minutes until Danny Del Rio gave FAU a 1-0 lead.

Fifteen minutes later, Luke Lawrence knotted the match for the Lobos and forced the overtime.

A ricocheted goal proved to be the difference Friday night in Miami as FIU topped the Florida Atlantic University men’s soccer team 1-0 in Conference USA action. The Owls move to 4-7-1 overall and 2-3 in C-USA.

The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team wrapped up its 2016 home slate with a 2-1 loss to No. 14 Kentucky at the FAU Soccer Stadium.

 Kentucky’s Napo Matsoso took a rebound off a corner kick just four minutes in and fired across the net to give the Wildcats (10-3-2) the early lead.

A foul in the 17th minute set up senior Jason Fitzgerald for a successful penalty kick for his team-leading third goal of the season as the Owls (4-8-1) tied the contest.

Matsoso struck again in the 59th minute again off a corner kick on a roller from the top of the box for the game-winner for Kentucky

FAU sits in seventh place in Conference USA with a two-point cushion and two games remaining. The top seven teams qualify for the C-USA Tournament in Huntington, W. Va.

FAU will finish up its regular season with road contest at Charlotte on Saturday, Oct. 29 and at Old Dominion on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

FAU men’s soccer suffered a 4-0 loss at No. 8 Charlotte on Saturday, but still has its postseason hopes alive with one match remaining in the regular season.

FAU will travel to Norfolk, Va. to face Old Dominion on Tuesday, Nov. 1 to play the match rescheduled due to Hurricane Matthew. FAU can advance to the Conference USA Tournament with a win or a draw, pending other league outcomes.
