West Division Champion Louisiana Tech (6-1, 8-3) and East Division-leading WKU (6-1, 8-3) are both idle this week, but there is plenty to be decided in Conference USA Football.
Old Dominion (5-1, 7-3) is the one other team that could still earn a spot in the C-USA Championship Game and the Monarchs will visit Florida Atlantic, winners of two straight.
A game with huge bowl implications takes place in Denton, where North Texas hosts Southern Miss. The Mean Green need a victory here and at UTEP in the final week to reach bowl-eligibility for the first time since 2013, while one more win puts Southern Miss into bowl-eligibility for the second straight season.
Charlotte, like North Texas, maintains bowl hopes, but must get wins in their final two games, beginning with Saturday’s home contest against Middle Tennessee, a team that is already bowl-eligible.
Texas foes UTEP and Rice meet in Houston, while East Division rivals Marshall and FIU meet in Miami. UTSA closes out its non-conference schedule with a game at No. 22 Texas A&M.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19
UTEP at Rice (ESPN3) 12:00 pm
UTSA at (22) Texas A&M (ESPN U) 12:00 pm
Middle Tenn. at Charlotte (ESPN3) 2:00 pm
Southern Miss at North Texas (beIN) 5:30 pm
ODU at Florida Atlantic (Campus Ins.) 6:00 pm
Marshall at FIU (ASN) 7:00 ppm

Wow, what a game! Really thought Charlotte could pull it out, especially with how the last 7 or so minutes went. But Middle's ground game came in clutch.

The Mean Green can become Bowl Eligible with a win over UTEP (very doable) next week.

The Defensive Player of the Week honor went to North Texas sophomore DB Nate Brooks, who had two interceptions, a forced fumble and six tackles in a victory over Southern Miss.
The Special Teams Player of the Week award was given to North Texas junior K Trevor Moore, who had another perfect day kicking in the Mean Green’s win.
C-USA Football Players of the Week are voted on by a panel of the league’s media.
