Four Owls hit double figures led by freshman Katelyn O’Reilly who broke her career-high in points with 23 in her first double-double of the season.

The freshman hit double-figure scoring in five of her last six outings and shot 10-for-19 from the floor in this contest, which is her 19th time doing so this year.

Women's basketball has never gone winless in conference play, but after tomorrow night against MTSU this year will likely be the first.

Since you don't know the coaches name there is probably no chance of her getting fired (no one cares).

Which is exactly why I won't be doing this thread next year…adding softball, volleyball, and men's and women's soccer to the list as well.

Too much effort for little to no interest…

Kellie Lewis-Jay has been relieved of her duties as Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

“Kellie, her staff and her teams have represented Florida Atlantic University exceptionally well in the classroom and in the community,” said Chun. “We thank her for her five years of service leading our women’s basketball program.”

Had a feeling that this was coming after KLJ and her team lost that many straight games.

I won't pretend like I follow the program, and obviously other people here don't either based on the lack of posts about it, but you do kind of wonder what happened to get results like this. From our experience with the men's teams I'd imagine it has something to do with youth on the team and thus being a rebuilding year, that old story.

Just goes to show that our facility/resource deficiencies are plaguing both men and women's teams. But we haven't heard any new movement on the new convocation center/basketball arena idea in… must be a couple years now so doesn't look like we're going to crawl out of that hole any time soon.
