Game Notes

Owls

FAU won their fifth straight C-USA series, taking two-of-three from Marshall over the weekend before losing to Miami 8-2 Wednesday night.

Junior RHP Alex House pitched his second complete game of 2017 on Friday against the Herd, improving to 5-1. He scattered six hits, with just one earned run, one walk, and five strikeouts.

House will hold down his spot under the lights, but Coach McCormack is changing up the lineup again with Miednik moving to the Saturday slot leaving Sunday's starter to be announced.

Senior IF Austin Langham has had a very hot bat as of late for Florida Atlantic, producing four multi-hit games out of the Owls' last five with a .526 average on a 10-for-19 showing.

The Owls currently 4-1 in contests decided by a single run while the Roadrunners are 0-6.

Roadrunners

UTSA is currently in a three-way tie for sixth place in league standings along side Middle Tennessee and Marshall.

The Roadrunners hosted neighbor Incarnate Word on Tuesday and rolled to a 16-0 victory. It was the second-most runs scored this season behind the team's 18-6 victory at Houston Baptist.

Prior, the team went 1-2 at FIU over the weekend. Junior 1B Ben Brookover extended his hitting streak to 13 games during the series, posting his eighth and ninth multiple hit games of the year. He had five hits and two RBI on the weekend.

Saturday’s 10-5 victory was highlighted by senior OF Jesse Baker hitting his second grand slam in the last two weeks. He has a team-high 10 home runs on the season.

Junior RHP Chris Muller earned his second victory of the season in the win, striking out eight batters in 4.0 innings pitched. He will get his first start of the year on Friday night.
