Tatum Buckley’s solo shot gave FAU a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning of game one. Former Volunteer Kelsey Morrison doubled the cushion when she led off the bottom of the second with a solo homerun of her own. A pair of doubles for the Volunteers trimmed the margin in half in the top of the third. Tennessee tied the game in the sixth but had the go-ahead run thrown out at the plate. FAU regained the lead in the bottom half of the frame when Emily Lochten beat the throw home on a Buckley grounder to put the Owls up 3-2. Mia Olson worked a perfect top of the seventh to earn the complete game victory.
Alex Miller drove in Lauren Whitt with a base hit to center in the top of the second to give the Owls a 1-0 lead in game two. The next inning, Madisyn Palmer singled, stole second and third, then scored on a Tatum Buckley sacrifice fly to increase the margin to 2-0. FAU doubled its advantage again in the top of the seventh. Sami Williams bunted her way on, then stole second before coming around to cross home plate on Palmer’s RBI double. Palmer stole her third base of the day, then scored to make the score 4-0.
The Owls conclude tournament action on Sunday when they play Missouri at 11:15 AM.

With Ms. Hanson's defection to FSU we lost our stud pitcher and will have to win with the bats, thus losing to Oakland 8-9 but then beating UT!!!!! I wish her luck and all but sure do wish she would have stayed to make FAU a top 10 program! Hope we get to face her and beat her in the NCAA's!!!!!!
